My entry for :iconRouletteCityOCT: which feature my characters, Slice and Ribbon. It wasn't picked as one contestants, but I figured I had a good story going and turned it into a spectator entry. The name is a combination of the tourney's name and "Setback", the name of the comic Slice and Ribbon come from. While out on a usual heist, Slice is informed that his thieves guild, the Slick Cats Guild (S.C.G), had received a "hanged man" card which is a challenge to the group. Slice heads to the designated location unwittingly leading superheroine, Ms.Ribbon, to it. Before the two know it, they're transported into the far future and to Roulette City, a space station currently holding a fighting tournament. Having no idea how to get back to their time, let alone their planet. The two set out to find out who brought them there, why and what their link is to the tournament. Meeting many of the station's inhabitants along the way.
