DRACULA (My Version) - Minerva Westerna

Those that know me know I'm, of course, a big vampire fan and especially love ol Dracula. Eventually I got it into my head to do my take on the classic story. Some things will remain the same while others I want to expand on such as missed character oppurtunities. One of which is the expansion of Lucy's mother, here named Minerva. Now in the original story she pretty minor and most that happens is that she winds up dying from a heart attack as Dracula in wolf form comes to attack, in the process accidentally ripping off the garlic around Lucy's neck which...well you know if you read the story.

I always found that be a missed oppurtunity to me. Why did Drac never bite her along with Lucy? Yeah she's older but I still would've like to see her get turned. Well my version does just that..well sorta, for one Minerva is away when Lucy is attacked that night running an errand and still beliving Lucy's just suffering from a minor sickness (Van Helsing having told her this rather then what was really going on). So when Lucy "dies" after Dracula third attack. Seward sends her a telegraph to inform her of Lucy's death and tries to tell her to stay where she is for now. Minerva however doesn't listen and tries to hurry back. Unbeknowest to the protaganists, Dracula has been secertly monitoring them via his brides (again expanded role but I'll get to them in another entry) and send the three to capture Minerva, They attack her carriage mid-route and bring her to Carfax Abby having the brides keep watch over her until Dracula retrieves Lucy after she rises as a vampire. And you can pretty much guess what happens after that.

I'm still working out some story details and the designs are likely to change but it's coming along pretty nicely. Hope its peaks your interest, enjoy all!
