Description

Last pic of 2016 which I feel is fitting. Silly as it may be to some of you, I was sadden to see some of my favorite series I saw leaving media. I know all good things must come to an end, but it's never easy when it does.

Bleach
This one was especially sad to see go. I've been with this series since 2004, having first seen it as a preview in a an English Shonen Jump magazine while visiting a Virgins Superstore. After which, I saw it gain prominence, a solid fanbase and eventually a staple of manga. Yeah it's last few years were bad and ended on a very disappointing note. But, even with all my complaints and jeers at the last bits, it still hold a special place in my heart for introducing me to a lot of great fans whom I still keep contact with to this day. It may have went out on a weak note, I'm just sad to see it go regardless.

Wander Over Yonder:
Such an awesome series, I wasn't able to follow it much on TV due to the network jump to Disney XD. But I binged watched all of it with my friends over Skype and it was such fun watch. Great characters, very imaginative worlds, and some very trippy animations. Season 2 certainly upped the ante with a new foe foreign to the galaxy that threatens to destroy everything and I liked the contrast between her and the main characters while still not getting overly serious. Alas, though the last ep gives some good nuggets for a new season, the show had to end because "80 episodes was enough". Just..ugh, networks. Though I'm happy that the writers had the foresight to leave the ending open-ended. Hate that it ended, but least it was satisfying.

Littlest Pet Shop:
Yup after four seasons, Hasbro ended the series this year due to the toy sales not being up to snuff. I pretty much saw this coming though, I actually figure season three was going to be the stopping point, but they gave the series one more run to, I guess, see if they can turn things around. But no dice. This show was pretty harmless, not a major giant like My Little Pony FiM, but still worth watching just for the fun of it. And if it was on, I'd always sit back and give it a watch. While S3 had more of a finale (again I think the staff thought that was going to be the end of it), S4 ends pretty decently too. This was another my friends and I binged watched together and we all loved it. So indeed, thank you much for the entertainment LPS.

and finally Gravity Falls:
What can I say that hasn't been say, it's awesome. As brief as it's run was, it got a lot done. Fun characters, a very compelling story arc through it's two season, tons of monsters to explore and one heck of a finale. Again, exactly why this show was moved to Disney XD is beyond me. But I'm glad the move didn't kill it. While I would've love to at least see one more season (as it was originally envisioned going by the three months of the summer year, May-June-July) I'm at least glad the show's creator was able to keep his strength up for one last hooray. Kudos to you good sir and thank you again for such an awesome series.

With that, I give my final thanks to all these shows, you will forever be in both my heart and in the hearts of your fans. To everyone else, I hope 2016 was kind to you (global events not withstanding) and may we start 2017 with a cleansed mind and soul. Happy New Year!
