Well I got some good news, I'm finding places that are willing to hire and getting interviews. It's still a slow moving process however but I'm hopeful something will come about. October was pretty meh, it was a fun holiday season but I really didn't do anything on Halloween (well save trying to draw something for a certain ungrateful DA member, but I've already had my say on that). Weather been getting cooler as fall is normally tends to do. I've been feeling kinda bleh lately, been trying to draw but can't seem to make much progress. I don't know maybe it just the season messing with me. Don't worry though, I'll have some new drawings uploaded soon.
Also thanks much for the kind words over my rant on the Art Jam, it's nice to know there are much clear-headed people out there.
=== Events ===
Well most of it already passed. Steven Universe premiered, Thor The Dark World, Sonic Lost World, PS4 and Xbox One debut (and along with it the third Dead Rising game) as well as Super Mario 3D World. So that only leaves three things.
Nov 23: My Little Pony Friendship is Magic, Season 4 premieres
Nov 28: Thanksgiving (for the U.S)
** "Frozen" releases (honestly it doesn't look all that interesting. But I've been surprised before so..)

=== Reviews ===
It's...alright. Really nothing special, a pretty paint by numbers sport story I've seen before. Person wishes he was good at a sport, gets into an accident that gives them powers that makes them good at the sport, tries to live out dream, etc etc. I did like the snail crew though and the climax, while rather cliche on the ending, was fun watching. I say it's a rental at best.
One Piece Strong World (Dub)
Yes the dub of the 10th movie was recently released by Funimation. I've already seen it via a sub so how does it stack up to the original. Pretty good I'd say. The VAs do a good job of protraying all the characters and especially props to Ian Sinclair (who most of you may know as the voice of Dallas in Baccono. He'll also be the voice of Toriko as well) on playing the role of Brooke. Sounds very similar to the original (which isn't surprising. a recent interview revealed that Ian really studied the role. So much so he's now a fan of the series. LOL). I admit I was a little put off on hearing the bad guy having a Jamaican accent but Scott McNeil does really sell it that I got used to it very quickly. Was nice hearing Sean Schemmel as well (ironiclly he had worked on One Piece before when it was owned by 4Kids. Talk about full circle). Only complaints is that we sadly don't get the ending theme, Fanfare, since the musician, Mr. Children, was rather stingy with it. Kinda brings down the epic mood during the credits since they just use an earlier song from the beginning of the movie. But that's a nitpick at best, I'm happy that we were able to get the movie and that it's now in the west for purchase. Now c'mon baby, let's get "Film Z"!
Hmm I'm still on the fence on this one. I like the premise, a male boy part of a all female group of heroes who has powers due to being a half being. The fact that a lot of Steven's solutions are usually more indirect, thinking outside of the box moments make for some fun watching. And the characters are a likeable bunch with some pretty wonderful animation too (those backgrounds man -whistles-). But the thing is I still don't have a good grasp on what's going on. What exactly are they fighting against? One minute it's bugs, the next its some kinda being that can posse things and...yeah. Plus who are these gem people and where do they come from? They should've ironed out the starting points. If it was covered in the pilot, fine. But not all of us have seen the pilot, you gotta give us somethiing a bit more to go on. Like say Danny Phantom, we got some exposition on how he got his powers and why he does the superhero thing. There, clear understanding and they didn't even do an origin story for it. I know some shows like to just jump in to give us some mystery for later story , but you still gotta tell your audience a good chuck of how that particular world works so they can understand the premise a bit more. That said, I do look forward to what this show holds in the future and hope it has a good run.
Sonic Lost World
I swear it amazes me sometimes at how much there are still haters of Sonic after trying so hard to improve. Now this game comes along and everyone rails on it for being similar to Mario Galaxy. Guys, unless they completely lift the plot of the games from that series or truly rip it off, doing something similar is not crime. It's just the maker wanting to try something new and seeing if it'll work for them (for crying out loud it's not even space themed). And in this case, it's more of trying to get Sonic back into platforming. I gotta admit the last games did sorta lack this, it was basiclly zoom from point a to b. Yeah it's fun but deprives the game of any replayable value. But it does seem to work here, yeah Sonic's not as fast as before but there's still a good sense of speed and more of a challenge in getting to the goal. The parkor ability also adds some nice elements on taking different paths as well. The wisps though...eh too much of a gimmick. In "Colors", it made sense to use them both gameplay wise and in the context of the story. Here they're just...there for the sake of using them. In some cases you have to use them to progress but really the game could've worked without them. Also the boss fights are an absolute joke. For all the hype the Deadly Six were built up to, they go down so fast it's pathetic. There's some challenge in dodging their attacks but it doesn't last long enough to give a good fight. C'mon Sega, you can do better then that.
Controls are a little slippery but not outright unplayable like 06 and you can adjust to it pretty easily. Plotwise, I was a kinda disappointed. They call it "Lost World" but there's hardly any relation of plot to the planet outside of Eggman building a machine on it and taking some of it's energy. It's more along the lines of fighting the Deadly Six and Sonic and Eggman teaming up, that's about it. I know they're trying to cut back the complications from their previous tales but they could still try to make it somewhat complex. There are some good back and forth jokes and character interaction though so that did make up for it at least. And need I say, the game looks gorgeous, they really take advantage of the system making all the worlds very vibrant and colorful. I did feel like some of the animations during the cut scenes were a bit stiff but they're starting to get to the level of the CGI openings. So I can only wonder how they'll be when it comes time to take Sonic to the other next gen systems
Overall. it's not a perfect Sonic game, but certainly not a bad one and worth your attention. I'd say, unless your a diehard Sonic fan, rent first if you want to make a decision on owning it.
So yeah that's about it for now. Enjoy your holiday and I'll see you on the final month of '13.
